Partnerships and partner offers
With Partnerships, two businesses can connect and create offers for each other’s customers. The Partnerships page brings together active partners, requests, offers in both directions, and privacy-friendly insights.
Prerequisites
- The Partnerships app is available to the business, and your role has access.
- You know which business you want to connect with, or you have the contact person’s email address.
- A partner offer requires an approved, active partnership.
- The products and categories covered by the offer are active.
What you will learn
- how to find a Finta.no business or invite a partner by email
- how to approve, decline, or withdraw a request
- how to create and manage partner offers
- the difference between your own and received offers
- how to read partner insights without exposing individual customers
The complete flow from partner request to redeemed offer
A partner offer is directional. The business that creates the offer is the offer business, where the coupon is used. The other partner is the source business, where the verified customer must first complete and pay for a qualifying purchase.
The process works as follows:
- The receiving business approves the partner request.
- One business creates an offer that it owns.
- A verified customer completes a paid purchase from the other partner.
- Once the payment is captured, the customer receives a personal coupon for an active, qualifying offer.
- The customer uses the coupon at the business that owns the offer.
- Finta.no checks the customer, business, expiry, targeting, and time conditions, and prevents duplicate use.
Add a partner
Open Partnerships and select Add partner. You have two options.
Search on Finta
- Select Search on Finta.
- Enter at least two characters from the business name.
- Find the correct business and check its industry and location.
- Optionally add a personal message.
- Select Send.
- Follow the status under Requests → Sent.
Businesses that are already partners or have a pending request appear with their status in the search results.
Invite by email
- Select Invite by email.
- Enter the email address.
- Optionally add the business name, a nine-digit Norwegian organization number, and a personal message.
- Select Send invitation.
- Follow the invitation under Requests. You can withdraw a pending invitation.
The recipient signs in from the invitation link. If the recipient has several businesses, they must choose the correct one before approving the partnership. An expired, used, or revoked link cannot be reused.
Handle requests
The Requests tab shows both incoming and sent items.
- Select Approve to activate an incoming request.
- Select Decline if the business should not become a partner.
- A sent request shows Waiting for response and can be canceled.
- A sent email invitation can be Pending, Accepted, Expired, or Withdrawn.
Once the request is approved, the business moves to Partners, and you can create offers.
Create a partner offer
- Open Partnerships → Partners.
- Select Create offer for the relevant partner, or select New offer under Partner offers.
- Select the partner if the form has not already been limited to one.
- Enter the offer name and, optionally, a short description.
- Choose percentage or fixed amount, then enter the value.
- Choose a start and end date.
- Enter the number of days the coupon should remain valid after the customer earns it.
- Choose all products, specific categories, or specific products.
- Optionally add times and weekdays.
- Select Create offer.
When targeting categories or products, you must select at least one item. Check the dates manually before saving. You cannot change the partner after the offer has been created.
The offer does not give the customer a coupon immediately. The coupon is created only after a verified customer has completed a qualifying purchase from the partner and the payment has been captured.
For bookings, only partner offers that apply to all products are supported. A booking reserves the coupon when it is created and determines its final use when the booking is later completed, canceled, or marked as a no-show.
Your offers and received offers
The Partnerships page shows two directions:
- Your offers to the partner’s customers: your business owns the offer and can edit it.
- Offers from partners to your customers: the partner owns the offer, so it is read-only for you.
Manage outgoing offers under Campaigns → Management → Partner. There you can pause, resume, or end the offer. You cannot resume an offer once it has been permanently ended.
Changes to targeting or schedule can affect coupons that have already been issued but not yet redeemed. Avoid major changes in the middle of a campaign you have communicated to customers.
Track partner insights
Open the Insights tab and select all partners or one specific partner. Here you can see:
- securely matched shared customers
- customer overlap within the partnership
- coupons redeemed from partner offers
Figures appear only when at least five customers or redemptions can be grouped safely. Missing figures may therefore mean that the data is below the privacy threshold, not that the partnership is broken.
Remove a partnership
Open the menu beside the active partner and choose to remove the partnership. Confirm only after both businesses have clarified what should happen to active offers.
Once the partnership is removed, no new coupons are issued. Coupons that have already been issued remain valid until they expire.
Common problems
I cannot create an offer
- check that the request has been approved, not merely sent
- check that the partnership is still active
- check your role and that the app is available
I cannot edit a received offer
This is expected. Only the business that created the offer can change it. Contact the partner if the terms need to be adjusted.
The invitation link does not work
The link may have expired, already been used, or been withdrawn. Ask the sender to check its status under Requests and send a new invitation if necessary.
Insights shows no figures
Select the correct partner and check that offers have actually been used. Finta.no hides figures below the privacy threshold of five customers or redemptions.
Next steps
Read Campaigns and discount codes to manage and analyze offers, or Services, products, and pricing rules for targeting.
